Sample Artificial Intelligence previous year questions with answers

Q1PYQ · 2023-S1 Q81 · 2025-C Q69

Who is known as the father of AI?

  1. (A) Fisher Ada
  2. (B) Alan Turing
  3. (C) John McCarthy
  4. (D) Allen Newell

Answer: (C) John McCarthy. Coined 'Artificial Intelligence' at Dartmouth, 1956.

Q2PYQ · 2023-S1 Q82

Programming language commonly used for AI is:

  1. (A) Lisp
  2. (B) Perl
  3. (C) COBOL
  4. (D) C++

Answer: (A) Lisp. LISP (and PROLOG) are the classic AI languages. The 23-S1 key showed Perl — incorrect; the paper also listed Prolog, replaced here so one answer is correct.

Q3PYQ · 2025-B Q76

A technique developed to determine whether a machine could demonstrate artificial intelligence is known as the:

  1. (A) Algorithm
  2. (B) Logarithm
  3. (C) Turing Test
  4. (D) Boolean algebra

Answer: (C) Turing Test. Alan Turing, 1950.
